Sausage, Shrimp, And Spinach Bowl

While in Atlanta a few weeks ago, Rob and I enjoyed a meal at Steamhouse Lounge. We got the Sausage, Shrimp, And Spinach dip, that was absolutely killer! That dip inspired this meal. After my initial time making it, I plan to tweak it, which I’ve noted in the directions below.

Sausage, Shrimp, And Spinach

Servings: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of Velveeta cheese
1 box of cream cheese (8 oz.)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup of Mexican shredded cheese
1/2 lb. smoked sausage
8 oz. of shrimp (I used the tiny salad shrimp)
1/2 cup of frozen spinach
1/4 cup of Tabasco
2 tsp. of Cayenne pepper

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut sausage in to bite sized pieces.
3. Cook in skillet with finely chopped onion.
4. While the sausage is browning, get a bowl and pour in shrimp and Tabasco sauce. Mix well to ensure all the shrimp is covered in Tabasco.
5. When sausage is done, pour sausage into bowl with shrimp. Mix in Velveeta cheese, cream cheese, and soup mix.
6. I ground up Spinach in the food processor, but I think next time I’ll just chop in finely. I didn’t like the way it made the dish so green.
7. Pour all of the ingredients into a baking dish. The pictures you see here, I baked the cheesy, sausage mix with the rice. I think it would be much better to keep them separate, as the sausage mix is very rich.
8. Top with cheese and bake for 25 minutes.
9. Serve over rice.
