Project 366 Rewind {Week 2: Chilly}

I’m much later posting this than I’d hope. Life happens! Today (well, last night) life included my husband getting sick to the point of dehydration and being admitted to our local hospital. I’m sitting the room with him now as he sleeps and has fluids pumped into his arm. I’m exhausted…going on about 4 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours. 🙁

10. 1 Chronicles 4:10: My Grandmother gave me this. She kept one of these in her wallet and wanted me to do the same. It was misplaced for a time being and I was happy to find it again.

11. Time: What is it with time? We can’t wait to grow up, can’t wait for that concert, can’t wait to off work, can’t wait, can’t wait! But then, we don’t have enough time in the day. We’re running here and there and before you know it our days is over! Ever noticed that?

13. Pie Throwing: One of the traditions of our Cub Scout pack is for the boys to ear pies to throw at parents and leaders based on the amount of popcorn they sell. Friday was pie throwing day. Here you see Monkey throwing a pie at Rob, who’s face is already covered in cool whip! 🙂 Fun times. See a few more pics here.

Here in Alabama, our winter has hardly been winter. We finally, just this week, got temps below 50. I went outside to try and find something to symbolize winter. I found these dead looking buds and with the white sky in the background thought it turned out ‘cold looking’. 🙂

Project 366 Rewind {Week 1:Fresh Start}

366 Rewind {1-7}

This weeks theme was fresh start. A few of my entries this week correlate with the theme in one way or another.

1. New Desk Calendar: Before Christmas Target had a bunch of cute calendars in their $1 section. There’s just something about a fresh, clean, unwrinkled calendar that makes me feel good.

2. 2012 Chick-Fil-A Cow: Rob and Teenager went to the Chick-Fil-A (Peach Bowl) and got all sorts of goodies. This CFA Cow was an exclusive that only people that went to the bowl game received.

3. New Tug-o-War Toy: Here Daisy’s playing tug-o-war with Teenager. As you can see the toy is not all raggedy, but in no time, it will be. This girl loves to play.

4. 2012 Glasses: Here’s another ‘goody’ that Rob and Teenager picked up while in Atlanta for the bowl game. Every year I see people in New York on NYE wearing fun glasses similar to these.

5. New Book: Last week, I started reading a new book, The Hunger Games.

6. Playing on my iPod: There is nothing new and different about this picture. Monkey loves to play on my iPod.

7. Wedding: Saturday I photographed a wedding. Here you see the lovely couple and their beautiful daughter.

Ok, I’m going to try this again. I hate looking in the mirror, much less taking a picture of myself. Ahhhh! But, I’m going to try it again. This was taken on my bedroom balcony and I got a little sun flare on my face. Not the best quality pic, but it works. 🙂

This picture makes me smile for obvious reasons. I’m happy that we are able to put braces on Teenager. Just in the few months he’s had his braces we’ve seen his teeth straighten out. He’s got overbite/crossbite issues that is what will take longer.

Year in Review 2011

If you’ve never read Busy Bee Lauren, you totally should. One of my students, Marci, introduced me to her earlier this year and I am so glad she did. Lauren is a talented writer and photographer and oh, so funny! She recently did a post called “Year in Review” and I loved the way she did it, so I’m totally copying her. 🙂

Christmas Day {2011}

Christmas Day was quite enjoyable. Rob and I woke around 9 am and couldn’t believe the kids had let us sleep so long. We jumped out of bed and got breakfast in the oven and unloaded our stockings. We enjoyed our breakfast of sausage balls and apple fritters.

After finishing up with breakfast and stockings we settled down in front of the Christmas tree to open presents. Santa brought the boys a balloon maker with the long balloons that can be made into balloon animals. Turned out to be one of Monkey’s favorite gifts! Who woulda thought!

Daisy did exactly as I expected. She jumped right in the middle of things after getting to open her first present, she wanted them to all be for her! I’ll post video of her ripping open her presents as soon as I get it uploaded and edited.

After opening gifts and Rob helped the boys get their new computer set up we loaded up the car and tromped through the rain so that we could head up to Rob’s Mom’s house.

Teenager and Monkey love hanging out with Tara, who’s actually Rob’s cousin. She’s almost 22, but is so good with the kids. They played Wii for hours!

With the new year quickly approaching, I have so many blog entries to get wrapped up from this year. I am making headway on them. 🙂 I also have some New Year’s post to get done. With all that I’ve also been thinking about the 365 {photography} project. I was unsuccessful in finishing it out this year. Although, each year I get farther and farther into the year, which is good. Maybe that’s the reason I can’t give up on it. I’m curious if yall plan to do another year of 365, well actually 2012 will be 366??

Not all 7 photos have to follow the prompt- but we encourage you to try to include the prompt in at least 1.
