I’m just in a rut! I have this week and next week and then I’m either doing jury duty out of town or going back to work! Both of which, I’m not happy about! I wrote a letter trying to get out of jury duty for now, but I don’t know if they’ll let me. I was out of town when the summons came so I was late getting my response in and they sent another letter saying if I didn’t respond I would have my day in court! Isn’t that lovely? Anyway…So I’m not ready to go back to work. I was gung-ho until last week when I got squashed. Now I have no desire to plan or even think about work, all because of one lone parent! I can’t seem to get over it. I try to close my eyes at night to go to sleep and I see her face! Uhhhh! Don’t you just hate that? I’m trying to heal from it, but for some reason I just can’t kick it!

Playing Around with Flickr

Ok, so for some reason today I started playing around with Flickr! And now I’m kind a addicted! Even though I already have my family web gallery on my family page and a blog page where I post pics. I still think it’s really cool. I keep looking through different tags (kind of like keywords) and I’m finding so many awesome photos! But now the site is down and it’s driving me bonkers!! LOL!

Friday Forum – Dream Vacation

The object of today’s Friday Forum is to:
Imagine that you could drop everything and leave *right now* for your ultimate DREAM vacation destination. Money is no object, and you can go absolutely anywhere your heart desires. What place “beckons” to you? Think about the country [or continent, region, city, etc.] that you would *most* like to visit and what you would have to pack for a two-week stay there. Answer the following Friday Forum questions and see whether your readers can guess where you’re headed for your fantasy trip!

Soooo…read the questions and my answers and if you think you know where my dream vacation is please COMMENT!

1] A few words in the country’s national language can always be helpful. Give us some examples of a few sentences [or phrases] that you might use while you’re there. Are you fluent in the language?

Well they speak English, so that’s always good! Here are some phrases you might hear:
Fair crack of the whip!
Don’t get your knickers in a knot
Bloody oath
Away with the pixies

2] Would you take any special equipment with you for your vacation? (A diving suit? Mountain climbing gear? Your bicycle? A winter coat? Skis? A surfboard?) What form[s] of transportation would you use to navigate the area and do some sightseeing? Would you visit any sites in particular?

Uhhh….I think it would be neat to see the place by train or helicopter. I would like to go to the opera house there, Kangaroo Island, Cradle Mountain, and the Southwest National Park.

3] What are the gastronomic specialties in your dream destination? What would you like to eat while you’re there? Are there any national dishes that you wouldn’t try?

I would like to try Damper and Rissoles. I would definitely try some of their beers. I’m not sure how I’d like the Meat Pies though!

4] What would you bring back as a souvenir? What would a picture-postcard from your destination look like, and what would you write on the back of the postcard?

I would love to get some “Ugg Boots” even though they are quiet pricey! A post card would have a picture of the desert, great barrier reefs, or a beautiful opera house.

5] Could you imagine moving to your dream vacation destination and living there for a few years [at least]? Why or why not? Do you know anyone who currently lives in this location?

I don’t know of anyone who lives there now, but I know someone who is trying to figure out a way to live there. I’m not sure if I’d want to live there. Although, seeing it and being there would probably change my mind!

I’m not in a good mood. I went to work today and got “squlshed!” If that’s a word! Anyway, I’m not going to go into it, but I’m feeling about as big as an ant. It’s just amazing how people can be. It astounds me at what some people do. Teachers just don’t get the credit they deserve. I’ve been working pretty much all summer getting ready for my new class and things like today make me wonder why I even bother! I’d love to go into it more, but this is public and you never know who’s reading.

I’m hoping to forget about it (yah right)! And have a good evening…we’ll see.

We’re home…

Sheesh! We are home finally! I’m exhausted. I’m in the process of unpacking, washing, cleaning, going through mail, and the list goes on! Here’s a couple pics from our trip! [pics have been removed from old account]

Here’s the highest temp we saw while driving through Austin! The entire trip was SO hot!

And here’s a quick story. While on the way to San Antonio, we stopped in Waco and went to the Dr. Pepper museum. Right before we left we went to the bathroom and I was changing T baby’s diaper. This is what I saw:

I busted out laughing! And NO! I didn’t TAKE the diaper with me!!! It was Tee-Tee! No poo!

I’m working on my trip summary and I have lots of pics to post in an Album on my family site! I’ll hopefully get to that up tomorrow, but I have to work tomorrow and Wednesday to decorate the hall at my school.

I’m so excited for my uncle!! He has finished the Race Across America – 3,000 miles – 9 days – 13 states – rain, hail, temps up to 110 down to freezing! Listen to my uncle after crossing the finish line here!!! I think it is a great accomplishment.
