I was just watching Backdraft, which I hadn’t seen in a long time. I had forgotten how awesome the music is! I went to see who did the music. I was thinking it was Hans Zimmer, but wasn’t for sure. I was right. I started thinking about HZ and all the wonderful movie soundtracks he’s been apart of. If you look here, Pearl Harbor, Days of Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean, Twister, and the list goes on and on!!! He is so amazing! And for those of you who aren’t music fans…sorry for boring you if you made it this far!

Career Choices

I love Discovery Health Channel. I’m absolutely addicted! Although, my family is not so fond of it. I love Maternity Ward, Medical Incredible, The Critical Hour, and the list goes on!!! I can’t get enough of it. The thing is is that I can only watch it when my family is busy doing other stuff, because they don’t like seeing all that blood and guts. I understand there are a lot of people that don’t enjoy seeing all that, which is completely understandable! I just wonder… Well, I guess I should tell you that my first major was pre-med! I wanted to be a Physician Assistant. After a year of science that I constantly studied and still didn’t make the grades that I wanted to make, I decided I needed to change majors. And I just wonder…if I would have gotten over the hump, would I still be addicted to these shows? No way, I’m sure it would drive me nuts to watch what I put up with all day long!

Will I ever go into medicine? I don’t know. After some days of uncooperative students and trying to teach, I’m thinking it sounds great. But the thought of going back to school is very unappealing! Also, if I continue to work as a teacher, I can retire in 19 years! So hmmmm….maybe I’ll just continue to teach and watch all the Discovery Health I can fit in when my family is not around! Sounds good to me!

I AM in here!

I’m still fighting sickness, but I think it’s got me now. Last night I was feeling NOT good! My voice was vanishing and this morning, NOTHING! Just a very soft whisper! Lots of gunk in my throat! I decided that if I could make it through the day I would take a day tomorrow to go to the doctor. But teaching without a voice…I did it last year, which was not that big a deal. I put a list of work up and pointed to it and they got busy. THIS CLASS….I TRIED that…puh! Yah right!! “What do we do?” “Do we do the whole thing?” “What do we do on this?” I’m thinking READ THE BOARD!! READ THE DIRECTIONS ON THE PAGE!! SHeesh!!!! Frustrating! Today took so much out of me! Forcing a voice that I didn’t have killed me. The one thing that I could say real good was SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! So I decided that if I lose my voice again with this class, I’ll have to take the day or something! And ever since I started teaching it seems that my voice always seems to go.

So when I called today to make an appointment, they said we have openings next week. I’m like whaterever, I’ll go to the urgent care clinic. I can’t wait over the weekend people!

Sheesh! I just love when doctors offices say that!

A Mouse in the House…

I forgot to tell ya yesterday that yesterday morning when I got up and went into the bathroom, I was holding my breath. Knowing that a mouse might be on one of the sticky traps, I was scared. I turned the light on and my heart sunk when I saw the poor little mouse on the trap. I thought to myself, “well, we gotcha!” I stood there for awhile looking at it. She was starting to move. ICK! It made me so sad. I couldn’t bring myself to use the bathroom in there, so I went upstairs. After I got dressed, I went back in there to do my hair and makeup. As I was doing my makeup I could hear her trying to pull herself off there! EEEEYEWWW!!! It was so sad! So when I got home yesterday, Rob had discarded it and I was thinking all is good now! Today I cleaned up the mess in the bathroom and said well if there are anymore, which I don’t think there is, then I’ll know by the new droppings!

Well, it didn’t take that…

Mr. A was in the bathroom and yelled, ” I SEE A BABY MOUSE!” I was like yah whatever. Rob said, “Nuh-uh!” He yelled back, “YES THERE IS!! COME HERE!” And d@m* if he wasn’t right! We opened the armoire drawer up after the little mouse ran back under the armoire and looked. When we looked hard enough we saw a bunch of babies piled up on each other. We got a box and picked the T-shirt up with them in there and then managed to get the loose one to run in the box. Rob and Mr. A are at Walmart now getting something to keep them in. We’ll release them some where far away from house when they get big enough to fend for themselves. Especially since we killed their mom:(

I’m just real curious now where Daddy is?

Furry Friends

Yesterday Rob got home and asked me if I got his email. I said no. He said well I have a surprise for you. I asked “a good one or a bad one?” He said bad! So we go into the bedroom and he said open up the bottom drawer of the armoir. He said “open it up and and jump back”. So I did. When I opened the bottom drawer, there was a bunch of torn up tissue in the midst of Rob’s clothing. He told me to close it back. He said that morning, he heard scurrying around in there so he opened it up and didn’t know why the tissue was in there like that so he started to pick it up when he saw a mouse run across the drawer! Eeeeyyywwww!!! Later we discovered the mouse left of us many tiny gifts behind the toilet in our bathroom, which connects to our bedroom. Yuck! This morning when I got up, I tip toed for being afraid of stepping on it. I push the bathroom door open and flip on the light, wait a few seconds and then I go in. Talk about being paranoid and scared to walk around in my own house! ACK! So when I got home today I was like, Mr. A we’re going to look for the mouse. I looked in the bathroom and saw that Rob and got some sticky traps. I told Mr. A to open the bottom drawer. He did and he said I seem it, I see it! I was still in the bathroom adjusting the traps, so I went in there and looked and I think I saw NOT 1 mouse, but 2 teeny tiny mice! Yuck!!!! After a few seconds they scurried out of the back of the drawer, which I’m not sure where they went. Hmmm…what we need is to put a trap in the drawer! Oh well, we’ll see. I just hope that there’s just those 2 or 1 and no more! Eeeessshhhh! You know as much as I love The Mouse and the Motorcycle, I think it takes on a whole new meaning for me! 🙂

Randomness

I need to win A Million Nuggets!! But I tried today and I won a free Dr. Pepper, so I guess that’s better than nothing!

I’m holding on to just a bit of squeakiness, my voice that is! Yes, I’m loosing my voice. I could barely teach today and my throat started hurting pretty bad.

Mr. A had his first “Fall Ball” Baseballl game tonight. It’s KID-PITCHED!! And some of those kids are awesome! I take my camera everywhere, or least try to remember to. Well, there were some parents there looking at me like I was crazy or something, when I started taking pictures! 🙁 So I got paranoid and put the camera away! I was mad at myself for giving into the dirty looks, so Monday at his next game….sc**w them! I’m going to have my da** camera out and for their information, NO! I’m not taking pictures of THEIR kids!! Just MINE!! Thank you very much!

Uh!

I didn’t feel good all weekend. I’m fighting the gunk that’s going around. I actually felt pretty good today until I got home and now my nose is running, my eyes are watery, and I feel like you know what! I was hoping to escape having to go to the doctor, but it seems that every time I have that attitude is when I end up 10 times sicker than if I were to just go like I should!

But I gotta run because I have an 18 month old about to trounce on me for not giving him attention;-)

I was just on Flickr and I look at this set. It’s the same ship that we’re going on, except that we’re not going to Grand Cayman because ours is the 4 day cruise. And looking at those pictures made me really want to go NOW!!! I’m pumped!

If only I could lose a few pounds before. Let’s see I’ve got 26 days…how ’bout a pound a day? Hahaha!! That’s funny!

TGIF!!

Why is it that the 4 day weeks take an eternity to pass? I’m just so burnt out! Anyway…

On a happier note, we changed our cruise and are leaving out of Tampa now. Rob’s grandmother is watching Alex. She’s an hour north of Tampa, so that works out great. We’re leaving on the 5th to drive down there and hop on the ship on the 6th. We get back on Monday, so I’ll have Tuesday to wash clothes and all that before returning to work! It’s a 4 day cruise instead of a 5 day cruise. We’re saving money and we’re getting a $100 per person ship board credit!!! YAYYYY for that! I’m SOOOOOOOOO ready for a nice break!
