My Experience at Riverdance

For those that know me well know that my love for dancing is profound. I started dancing when I was 3 years old. I danced up through high school on the dance/kick squad. So watching the dancers come out and dance their hearts out evoked such a great emotion. The first dance struck such deep emotions that tears trickled from my eyes. With each tear that dropped, the emotion I felt in the pit of my stomach grew stronger and stronger. Thoughts of high school dancing days ran through my head as I watched. Memories of the bright stadium lights and loud screaming fans, thoughts of tons of hairspray and makeup, leotards, spandex, Keds…my memories were endless. The show was absolutely amazing. I loved every second of the dancing. The Flamenco dancer was spectacular. Although I was probably in the minority that thought that. I watch any type of dancing performance with a sharp eye. I spot any little mistake or late move. The Riverdance team was flawless. I think it’s a must see! A once in a life time experience 🙂

Weekend Getaway 2005::Atlanta, GA

Friday night after dropping the kids off at the in-laws’, Mr. Mag took me to the very charming Dante’s Down the Hatch. They are a fondue restaurant that has a setting created to look like a ship tied to a wharf. You pay more to be on the ship, because that’s where you hear and see the live jazz. Mr. Mag had reservations to be on the ship, which was really nice and romantic. We had a one sided booth that looked over the ship. The inside of the restuarant is just amazing. There is water under the ship and that’s the home of several crocodiles that are Dante’s pets.

Here’s the old car in front of the restaurant

Then, we headed back to our bed and breakfast, the Ansley Inn. It was a quite an enchanting and homey feeling environment.

Saturday we walked over to Piedmont park and walked around enjoying the cool weather and all the fall colors.

Then, we headed over to Lennox Square Mall and ate lunch. We traveled by MARTA. Then, Saturday evening we went to see Riverdance, which you can read about here.

After leaving The Fox, we walked over to The Varsity for a late night dose of indigestion.

Sunday we went to Margaret Mitchell’s House and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

The weekend was wonderful. Thanks, Mr. Mag!

Randomness

Mr. Mag left this morning 5 am to go to Atlanta for business. So I got up after he left and got some stuff done around the house. I had to get to work later than normal because I had to get TV boy on the bus and then take Monkey boy to daycare.

I got my hair cut today. You know I can’t find anyone in these twin cities that I want to keep going to. I’ve had my hair butchered too many times. But the girl I went to today was good and very thorough in showing me and explaining to me what she was doing. It turned out nice. I came home and used my Chi Iron on it.

So tomorrow I’m meeting Mr. Mag up in Atlanta after I get the kids after work. Then, we’ll head to our B&B and then to surprise reservations. I’m really excited! I don’t know where we’re going, but he says we’ve never been to a place quite like this. And so he told me I needed to be dressed up, so I’m wearing a new outfit that I got this week. I’ll also be wearing my sexy new hair do! Hopefully Mr. Mag will think so 😉

Tonight I took TV boy to soccer practice. Then, we came home and I treated myself to pizza and beer! Now I’m listening to TV boy read his new Judy Moody books that I got him (and trying to watch Survivor). Hope you had a good day!

Rainbow of Fruit Flavors

Drew has a paint set with all sorts of paint, paint brushes, paint sponges, and an apron. Undoubtedly, this was a gift from a loving grandparent :-). He painted with it tonight. I helped him clean it up, but I know I will be seeing colors for weeks everywhere! My house can now be called the house of Rainbow of fruit flavors since it will be tracked from one end to the other!

Looking Forward 2005::Atlanta, GA

I’m getting really excited about this weekend! Mr. Mag and I are having a weekend away. We’re droppin’ the kids off at his mom’s house and heading up to Atlanta. We’re staying at the Ansley Inn, which is a bed and breakfast downtown. It’s an English Tudor mansion built in 1907. Looks really cool.

Saturday night we’re going to see Riverdance!! I’m thrilled about that. I grew up dancing and even though I don’t dance today, I wish I had time because my love for dancing runs deep.

Since we’re only about an hour and half from Atlanta we’ve seen pretty much all the major sight-seeing places, so we’re looking for things we haven’t done before. We might go to the Home of Margaret Mitchell’s house, Gone with the Wind author. But we’ll see. I’ll be taking lots of pics as normal 🙂

How Clean is Your Bathroom?

Tonight we had some trick or treaters. We had the cutest little angels. They were sisters and after giving them some candy the older one said, “we gotta go cause she’s gotta pee!” The mom said, “come on girls lets go find her a bathroom.” Without really thinking about it, I offered my bathroom. I showed them where it was and they all went in there to help her with her costume. As I was waiting for them to come out, I started thinking about how dirty or clean the bathroom was. I started praying it wasn’t too bad. They thanked me several times on the way out. I went in there after they left to inspect just how clean it was. It wasn’t too bad, so that’s good. It makes you think though…how clean is your bathroom? Clean enough for strangers? You just never know…
