Quiet as a Mouse…

I’ve been pretty quiet lately here on the blog-front. I’ve been really busy with Christmas festivities. Last night I had to get ready for my work party and Monkey Boy’s party. I made Chocolate-Chip-Caramel Cookies and Spinach Artichoke dip. I purchased gifs for those parties and wrapped those. Yesterday was my party for my students. That wore me out!

I’ve also been quiet here, because I have been having serious neck pain again. This time it’s so bad it hurts on both sides and it gets so bad I feel nauseous at times.

BUT, it’s the holidays for me now, so I’m going to try and get some rest even though my house is a reck and I’ve hardly bought anything for anyone!! 🙂

Christmas Meme

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
I’ve actually never tried Egg Nog that I can remember. haha

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Most wrapped. Usually 1 or 2 things not wrapped.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
I like a combination of both.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No

5. When do you put your decorations up?
2nd week of December

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? My mom’s potato casserole.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
Every year my Grandfather loved Christmas. It was always a joy seeing his excitment and shopping with him.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
Kids at school were kidding me about me still believing. I knew deep down, but could never admit that it was not true.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Not any more, but used to as a child.

10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him?
Homemade cookies that the TV Boy and I make that day. Usually a mixture of different kinds.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
LOVE IT, just because we hardly ever get it!

12. Can you ice skate?
Have tried, but hated it!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
Hmm…

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces as they open gifts. Being with family and friends.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
Fudge!

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Making sausage balls a few days before Christmas and making cookies with my kids on Christmas Eve along with decorating a Gingerbread house.

17. What tops your tree?
This year we have an angel

18. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving?
I love to give. Although, sometimes deciding what to get people can be agonizing, I enjoy sending packages off to my family. I enjoy hearing what they thought of the gifts. I’m usually good at getting what people will like:-)

19. What is your favorite Christmas Carol?
Sleigh Ride

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
Not my favorite

Yay!!!

I got my new skins! I’m so excited!! I hope everyone likes them as much as I do. Irma did an awesome job, so be sure and “skin the site”. My photoblog doesn’t have anything in it yet, but I’ll start working on that soon! I’m leaving now to go out to eat with my coworkers for our annual Christmas (yes, I said Christmas!) dinner. 🙂

Christmas Traditions

Lisanne recently wrote a beautiful post about Christmas traditions. It’s great having wonderful family traditions to look back on. Christmas was always my Grandfather’s favorite time of year. Each year as we decorate the house with all of our decorations, tears roll down my face as I think about Granddad and how he would get into the Christmas spirit. I Fell on my A**

Today I was coming down the stairs with the dirty clothes hampers. I missed a step and tumbled down the stairs, only to land on my tailbone! I heard and felt something go “CRUNCH!” It hurt so bad. Monkey Boy was coming down with me, but thank goodness he didn’t go down before me! He was at the top of the stairs. He watched me lay at the bottom of the stairs crying. I got up and managed to feed him lunch and finish some chores. Then, I laid down on the heating pad. It doesn’t hurt too bad when I lay or stand, but sitting is not too fun!

Back to the old grind…

We got back last night and today it was back to the old grind. I’m exhausted and now thinking about Christmas, uh! It just doesn’t seem like Christmas time. I tried shopping today, but just ended up with a few groceries, so no progress there. Oh, well! THANKS to all the kind words about my husband’s grandfather. It’s great to know there are people out there reading, who actually care!

Sad News…..

Mr. Mag’s Dad called today. He had sad new. Mr. Mag’s Granddad, PawPaw, passed away today. So that will alter our plans for the weekend. We’re still gonna head up to Mr. Mag’s Mom and Step-dad’s house tomorrow to celebrate Thanksgiving. Then we’ll be heading to Baton Rouge either tomorrow night or Saturday morning.

When we told TV Boy, he was like, “Nuh-uh! He did?” He sat for awhile and then he broke down in tears. He had a hard cry and I just hugged him. I couldn’t help, but cry with him. Although we all knew that Paw-Paw had many health problems and has not been in good health for years, it still doesn’t make it easy. Please keep us in your prayers.
