Well, we’ve opened all the gifts and are now just enjoying each others company. We’re waiting on Mr. Mag’s parents and family to get here. Friday we took a jaunt down to Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, FL. More all on that and Christmas later…

Garage Band Addict

Yes, I have a Garage Band Addict in the family. No, it’s not my husband, it’s my 7 year old (well, almost 8 year old)! A few months ago we broke down and got him a Mac Mini and slowly we’ve been showing him different perks of the computer. We showed him Garage Band and now he’s on it constantly, making different songs. Some not so good and some with a bit of potential. He now wants me to help him make them better. I did for a little bit and then I explained that those were his creations and that he needed to be in charge and do them on his own. He wasn’t happy with me, but oh well! Am I bad for that?

Thirteen Things about Magnolia Mom

1. My older child is driving me nuts.
2. All he says is “I’m bored!”
3. I keep telling him that life is what you make of it and he needs to find something to do.
4. I’m trying not to do anything to strenuous, since I’m gettin over my sickness.
5. I LOVE Trading Spaces!
6. There’s a marathon of Trading Spaces on Christmas Eve!
7. TV Boy yells from room to room instead of walking in to the room where I am.
8. This drives me nuts!
9. I also love the show “Baby Story”.
10. I’m having a hard time coming up with 13 things to say…Can you tell? 😉
11. I have lots of wrapping to do!
12. I should be doing that NOW.
13. My husband will be off for over a week starting tomorrow! 🙂 or 🙁 Haha!

Santa Trip

We went to see Santa today. And well, as you can see Monkey Boy wasn’t happy. As soon as we walked up to Santa and started talking to him, Monkey Boy clinched my arm so tightly. He was burst into tears as soon as I sat him down. But of course while TV Boy was talking to him he walked back over there, because he wanted the little antler headband!

After we ate lunch we walked back by and he just waved at Santa!

Productive Day?

Not so much! I woke up this morning and felt awful. Sore throat, swollen glands, ears hurting, pain from head to toe! I was so glad that I had made an appointment for the doctor yesterday, because of my neck pain. So I suffered through the morning with TV Boy at home with me. I took Monkey boy to school. I was so happy I saw the actual doctor! The last 4 or 5 times I’ve seen the nurse practitioner, so it was good to see him this time. He said it was probably strep, but didn’t see any need in testing because the medicine would kill what ever it was, regardless.

As for the neck…I’m going next week to see a different physical therapist to see if she can help my pain and if not, he’ll order an MRI. They gave me a steroid shot and 3 medications. I’m feeling lots better already. My aches and chills are gone and that’s what drives me nuts more than anything. My throat is actually better too! I’m just glad I had the appointment, because I probably would have had to wait till tomorrow to go to the doctor. That would have not been good!

But did I get anything done? No, not a thing. I slept and watched TV and that’s pretty much all! Not so productive! Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll have my energy back and will be feeling better. I still need to take the kids to see Santa! 😮

My 1st Day Off

Today was my first day off for Christmas. You wanna hear what I did?

Took the Christmas letter to Speedy Print to be ran off.
Spent 4 hours cleaning my house!!!
Went to eat lunch with Mr. Mag
Ran some other errands with Mr. Mag (got wrapping paper, got envelopes for letters, got a gift card for someone)
Went to Scrapbook store and got some rubber stamps
Came home and cut pictures apart
Printed labels
Folded Letters
Figured out who was getting which pictures
Addressed envelopes
Licked 30 something envelopes
Ran to the store to get larger envelopes for the 8×10 pics
My dad called and I talked to him for a few minutes
Dropped stuff off at the United Way drop box
Went and picked up the kids
Went and picked up Mr. Mag
Now I’m in pain from head to toe! I’ve been going non-stop since 8:00 am this morning! I’m so tired now. Notice that I did not get to mail the letters and pictures yet! I still have to go get stamps and mail them. I’ll do that later tonight. I have a long list for tomorrow though…

Aggravation

Do ever have days where everything aggravates you? It doesn’t matter what you do, you’re still aggravated, disgusted, and just fed up? Well, that was me today. I actually wake up many days like this, but today it never subsided like normal. I just looked around my house and see STUFF lying around. Christmas storage boxes, toys, trash, socks, you name it it was in the living room or the kitchen of my house! So I went on a cleaning rampage. You want to eat lunch? TOO bad!! I’m cleaning!! You want to go shopping? Go yourself! I’m cleaning!! I put all my Christmas storage boxes back out in the storage building, started taking stuff from the top of my pantry that we never use and put them in boxes so that they can be STORED somewhere else! I cleaned from underneath my microwave so that when I open up that cabinet everything doesn’t fly out at me! I started to put lots of stuff in either a “throw away” bag, a “give away” bag, or an “I’m not sure what in the heck to do with this” bag! I started cleaning my desk off. I also did 3 loads of wash, folded and hung them, and then cleaned the bathroom along with cleaning the tub! Mr. Mag went shopping, wrote our Christmas letter, decorated the stairwell with evergreens and white lights, and wrote Thank you cards. The kids, well they did their normal going back and forth arguing!

Now everyone is in bed except me! My house is still not as clean as I’d like it, so Monday since everyone else will be at work or school, I will be able to dedicate my day to what I’m best at, “cleaning”! Ugh!
