Summer Reading

It seems as though summer is passing by like sand through my fingers. I should be using this time to read, to be an adult and read something mature, maybe something even hot and steamy. I’m not a big reader, but when I do read it’s usually something for work (ie. Loser or Month-by-Month Phonics). I also enjoy reading magazines and self-help books. Each summer I try to read something out of my comfort zone just a bit! I went to the book store the other day and wondered among the aisles, but didn’t know what to get. So here’s your chance. What should I read?

Tomorrow’s the Big Day

June 11 is a day that hundreds of bike riders, crew members, and family of racers have anticipated for the last 365 days. My Uncle Guy is racing solo in Race Across America. He raced last year as a mixed pair and won that division. This year he’s doing it on his own. My dad is part of the crew. I’m so pumped. I’ll be spending the next 10 or so days following the race. I made this page to help me keep up with everything. Feel free to go over to his blog and wish him luck! It starts tomorrow at 9:00 am Pacific Time!

Meeting…

Yesterday was exciting! I met Emily at Chick-Fil-A. It was my first time to meet another blogger. I also got to meet her little boy, Justice, who is just as cute as he can be. I really enjoyed having lunch with her and talking. If you haven’t met Emily, go over and say hi!

This was funny….

Although, you may have just had to have been here for this one.

Since it’s summer, the kids stay in the house most of the day. I have to force TV Boy to go outside. Monkey Boy could stay out there all the time, but he’s not fond of being out there alone. Well, today I told TV Boy, he better go outside and burn some energy. We did our usual back and forth, but he finally did it. The thing is is that for some reason, beyond me, he wouldn’t put his shoes on. I even knocked on the window from my bedroom and reminded him again. MB came in there with me, looked out the window, and saw TV Boy on the swing. He said, “OOO! TV Boy outside! Swingin’! No sues (shoes) on!” I just cracked up. I’ve always thought MB takes after me in that he is very observant and this just prooves my point.

Crib Issues

Well, after I wrote this post things got a little better. Monkey Boy was at least staying in bed until 5 am, but nap time was torture. In the crib, screaming, throwing royal fit, crawl out of the crib, come down stairs, “Hi, Mamma”, truck back up the stairs, put him BACK in the crib, and repeat! Well, Mr. Mag and I talked about bed options and the fact he might get hurt climbing out of his bed, etc. So Sunday afternoon, I put his mattress on the floor (just a temporary change). He looked at me with a strange look, but then smiled really big. I thought, “Oh, no! He sees how much easier this will be now!” I laid him down, covered him up, gave him his “baby” and closed the door. An hour or so later I peaked in on him and he hadn’t moved an inch. Cute as can be, laying with his baby. Did I get a picture? No, but I’m going to soon, because he now goes to bed like a champ (at least for now.)

Goings On

Last night we watched Robots, which I thought was pretty funny.

Today I helped TV Boy do a major cleaning of his room. His room was just filthy! There was stuff everywhere. And what started all that was that we’re moving the old TV upstairs to his room. This is something we said we would never do and we scoffed at people who let their young children have TV’s in their rooms. But, we’re going to see how it goes after lay down some strict rules that we’re going to dsicuss. I’ll have to take some pictures of his room.

Yes, this was an exiting post. Thank you very much 🙂
