Possibilities

I guess I’ve been pretty quiet here lately. I’ve tried not to bore you with my mundane life. I’ve been enjoying my days off and tomorrow it’s back to the old grind until Thanksgiving. Anyway, during my time off Mr. Mag found a house he wanted to look at. We haven’t been deseperate to move or anything, but we always keep an eye out. So we went and looked at the house yesterday. We really liked it. It’s the perfect size for what we need. It has lots of things we don’t have now, like a garage, an room for an office, a formal dining room, a huge game room, a nice big backyard with a pool and hot tub. The original house was built in the 70’s, but has had lots of updates and additions added (like the game room and office area). It seems to be priced just right for what we’re getting. We weren’t sure if we’d be able to afford the nearly doubling in house payment, but after crunching numbers last night we will more than likely be able to afford it. Today at 3:30 CDT I’m going to meet with the Wells Fargo person and see if we would qualify for the loan, what interest rates we get, etc. I’m extremely nervous about it. I don’t like doing things like this. I told Mr. Mag that I felt the ulcer I was getting from the stress of just thinking about doing this without him, but he’ll be dealing with all this later if everything works out. So this afternoon, I’ll know if this house is even a possbility because no loan would mean no house! If we do qualify then we have to get ready to sell our house, which we’ve never done before. I dread the thought of that too. What’s great about all this is if we sell our house for the amount we think we can get for it, we’ll be able to pay off all our credit cards too. You don’t know how happy that would make me. Anyway, so I’m off to try and not stress about this appointment and I’ll let you know how it goes! Wish me luck:-)

This week

I’m off on Fall Break until Thursday! It’s just me during the day, because TV Boy doesn’t have the same Fall Break as I do:-) I’m planning on relaxing, going to take some pics around town maybe, and I’m sure I’ll end up cleaning.

Happy Blogiversary!

One year ago today, I moved my blog to this wonderful place and I’ve been having so much fun. I’ve talked about some good times and some not so good times.

In this year, there have been several births and unfortunately a few deaths.

I survived many holidays along with many birthdays.

I shared lots of trials and tribulations with the toddler. As well as anxious moments with the eight year old!

I took a walk down memory lane and I looked into the future. I’ve lamented about my health issues.

I welcomed you here, after I pulled a couple old posts over from my old blog and I’ve discussed why I blog. I also shared some randomness.

As of today, one year later I’ve had:

Friday Feast #16

Appetizer
What is your favorite herb or spice?
Geez…I have so many favorite spices, but I think that I would not be able to live without garlic salt. I put it on everything.

Soup
Name a song you like but haven’t heard in a long time.
True Faith by New Order

Salad
If you were to take just one minute to write down as many things as you can think of that you need (not want) to do, approximately how many things would there be?
Hmmm…not sure about that one, but maybe 30?

Main Course
Tell something interesting about one of your family members (nothing scandalous, please, just something unique).
My Uncle and my Dad are both cyclers. They’re absolutely addicted to it. If only I could be addicted to something like that!

Dessert
What’s the latest you’ve ever stayed awake?
I’ve stayed up all night with no sleep at all.

See my red hair turn gray, Part 2

This weekend only proved to continue the saga of my kids seeing how far they could go. Yesterday TV Boy asked to go with the our neighbors to the park behind our house. I said that was fine. About 30 minutes later our neighbor rang the door bell and asked if I knew where the kids were. I was like noo….. She proceded to tell me they had heard all the stadium noise and wanted to go see what it was even though she told them not to go. She said she’d already driven around and couldn’t find them. I told her I thought I might know where TV Boy would go. So we hopped in her van and took off in the direction that we usually go for a walk, where we usually end up at the park where they had been playing. As we drove, we looked down each road seeing if we could see them. As we looked, I tried to remember what TV Boy was wearing that day. My memory was just blank. All I could think was where they might have gone. “What if they were hit by a car? What if they were kidnapped? What if? What if? What if?” I answered each question with “No, they’re all right. Everythings gonna be fine.” So we kept driving we were nearing the end of the neighborhood roads. There was a mom and little girl outside so my neighbor pulled over and asked if they’d seen a boy and little girl on bikes. I’m like, “On bikes? What? He didn’t bother sharing that detail with me.” So we kept driving after the woman said they had gone back down towards the park. So we were nearing the end of the street and I looked back behind the condos where I thought he might be and there they were. We pulled over and got out of the car. My neighbor started scolding the little girl as I started reprimanding TV Boy. Needless to say he spent a lot of time in his room yesterday.

This morning wasn’t quite as extreme, but as Mr. Mag and I were trying to sleep in, we kept hearing the opening and closing of the dryer door. Mr. Mag got up and I heard him tell the kids to go to their rooms and that they were grounded. I later found out they were taking turns getting in and out of the dryer as the other sat on the dryer door, which I’m surprised didn’t break off!

See my red hair turn gray

I’m scared to look at my hair closely, because I think my kids are driving me towards a head FULL of gray hair! Alex has been climbing out of his car seat. He pulls the clasp down and works his way out of the straps. Then, he stands up and makes the back seat his romper room. All the while, I’m screaming at him to sit down as I watch in terror in the rear view mirror. I pull over and restrap him, pulling the clasp up to his chin hoping that he’s not able to get it pulled back down. This is all after the first time this happened and I switched car seats.

Drew has had a ton of homework lately. It math every night, which he seems to be struggling with just a bit. He gets real frustrated with me. I guess after helping kids all day long my patience is shortened and coming home to help him is galling.

My new favorite song…

My husband found this video as he is getting pumped for the new Weird Al CD that comes out soon. Yes, I’m quite embarrassed to say my family and I are big Weird Al fans and I’ve even been to a concert.

Proof my child watches too much TV

One night Mr. Mag and I were deciding what to eat. He suggested that we get something from Subway. TV Boy replied by saying, “Eat fresh!” Mr. Mag and I looked at each other and cracked up.
