This just rips my heart out

This morning I found out that one of my student’s mother was murdered last night. When he got up he went to wake his mom up and walked through what he thought was water (because ‘the pipes are always leaking’) and it ended up being his own mother’s blood. He found her dead, beaten, stabbed, and her throat was slit.

When his homeroom teacher went to check on him today he was outside being interviewed by TV reporters. What the heck is wrong with those people? This 5th grade child just found his mother dead and they have TV cameras shoved in front of his face. He was stoic and his eyes were glazed over. He wanted to come to school.

I can’t imagine what he’s going through to have that final mental picture in your head of the lady that brought you into this world. Ugh! This just rips my heart out. No child deserves this and especially not this one.

Update…

How are y’all? Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We’re still in Florida. I left my camera USB cable at home so I’m not able to upload and edit and post pics like I’d like to. ACK! I’ll have TONS to do when we get home Monday night, and Tuesday, and Wednesday….hahaha!

Alex has been sick. He’s been off and on with his mood. We’ve had another dreadful task. I usually do medicine the lazy way and put it in his cups with no problems. But since we’ve been out of town, Rob decided Alex needed to be administered the meds by spoon like ‘it’s supposed to be done.’ This has turned out to be HELL! He screams and hollers and spits it out and it makes me sick to my stomach when we have to do it. Yesterday he took it good all but one good time and opened his mouth big and wide. Today the first 2 times we had to do the throwing a royal fit again so it was not fun. I was thankful that he took it good the 2nd time. Tomorrow we’re planning to go to the Tampa Zoo. And Monday we’re driving back home.

Stuff

I guess I’ve been in so wrapped up in selling our house and work and just stuff. We’re getting ready to leave for the Tampa Area on Tuesday for the week of Thanksgiving. I’ve been so sad reading about Atomic Tumor (blog now removed) that I’ve almost become obsessed about it. I just can’t imagine going along having my spouse get ill and then just a couple weeks later they die! What? Especially at such a young age. Anyway, I’ll be without internet access as far as I know while we’re in Florida, so I’ll catch ya next week.

It caught my eye so I read it, only to have my curiousity peaked, so I went here and read all about the life of a young mom of 2 taken. My heart just breaks for this family.

Mr. Destructive

That would be my 2 year old. I have a list of things he’s done lately that have been completely destructive, but today tops it. I had gone in the other room to open the windows because it’s cool outside and warm inside. Then, Rob got home and I started talking to him. Alex brings me this black plastic thing and I’m like what is that? It turned out be one of the many keys off my keyboard that he ripped off. We were able to find all the keys and the little white plastic pieces that help them work correctly except one. So I am now missing one of my apple keys. And thanks to Rob, who was able to put the keys back on there. My space key doesn’t work very well, so I have to go back through and put all the spaces in. WHAT A PAIN! I couldn’t bring myself to take a picture of the destruction, it was so sickening!

I just imported my old stuff from Blogger. I’m in the process of ‘cleaning’ things up a little with all the entries.

UHGH! My hand is about to fall off! I’ve been working to get all my old entries that I imported put in the right categories. It’s taking forever.
