I’m so excited! A few days ago, I ran across 5 Minutes for Mom, which is an awesome blog. They’re hosting a blog party in March, where you can mingle, win prizes, meet new people, and all the fun stuff you do at a party. So come on! You know you want to. 🙂
Servings: about 8 dozen
First Layer:
1 cup (6 oz.) milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup butterscotch chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Combine in a small saucepan; stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread into the bottom of a lightly greased 13x9x2 pan. Refrigerate until set.
Filling:
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk
7 ounce jar marshmallow cream
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped salted peanuts
Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over medium high heat. Add sugar and milk. Bring to a boil; boil and stir for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in the marshmallow cream, peanut butter and vanilla. Add peanuts. Spread over first layer. Refrigerate until set.
Caramel Layer:
2 packages (14 oz.) caramels
3 tablespoons evaporated milk
Combine the caramels and milk in a saucepan; stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Spread over the filling. Refrigerate until set.
Top Layer:
1 cup (6 oz.) milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup butterscotch chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
In saucepan, combine chips and peanut butter; stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Pour over the caramel layer. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Cut into 1 inch squares. Store in the refrigerator.
Where has the time gone? Drew is N I N E today! You don’t know how old that makes me feel. I’ve spent much of the day reflecting on this day 9 years ago. I look back and think how young and naive I was at the time, but SO didn’t realize it back then. I guess maybe when Monkey Boy turns 9, I’ll feel the same way about that time, too.

Tomorrow is the weigh-in day for this challenge that most of my work is participating in. I’ve talked about this a little bit over on my other blog. The jist of it is, is that we each have to lose 14 lbs. by May. If each of the 4 teams members does that, we get our names entered to win $2,500 each. I won’t bore you with my goals and all that. Did you ever get in trouble while you were in school? If so, what was it for?
The only thing that comes to mind is one time in 4th grade, I was cheating on a times tables test. I just remember the teacher (who wasn’t my favorite) walked by and noticed the cheat sheet I had. She took it from my desk, stared me down, and called my first and last name. I knew exactly what she was thinking and that’s all the punishment I needed. She knew my Grandparents (who were my legal guardians) and I knew that she was thinking, “What would your Grandparents think of this?”

Navy blue on one side, cornwall blue one the other and it’s a lovely, soft, dreamy, and fluffy, down comforter.
