This was a set that I took of Teenager while we were at the Stock Yards.

I used Picnik to put these pictures in this storyboard.

After 10 trips to Wal-Mart, 4 replacement frames, lots of agony, several trips from one Wal-Mart to the other (because they didn’t have the frames we needed, across town, through traffic, through rain…
I used a free action from MCP Actions called Facebook Fix, which made putting these 2 pics in a storyboard, quick and painless. I also used another free MCP Action for the black border, but I couldn’t find a link to it.
In Paula Deen‘s book, It Ain’t All About the Cookin’, she holds nothing back. I adore her candidness. I’ll start off by warning you that if you think of Paula Deen as “a flawless southern woman,” then this book is not for you. She sugarcoats nothing, which I really appreciated. She starts off by dropping a ‘small’ bombshell and for those of you who may read it, I won’t ruin it for you. For me, it was something I had suspected from her, but really I shouldn’t let it bother me. A few foul words here and there. Not overwhelming or anything that gets in the way of the read. She paints a picture of the struggles throughout her life and all of the hard work she and her sons put into getting where they are today.
You may read other reviews of this book, that chastise her for mistakes she made, but like I tell myself, “If you don’t like what you’re reading, then STOP!” Frankly, I couldn’t put this book down. Now granted, I’m a huge Food Network fan and Paula Deen is one of my favorite chefs on that channel. Truthfully, I enjoy books like this that allow you to step into the past of the author/subject. I respect Paula for her persistence and tenacity for figuring out what she wanted in life and pursuing her dreams.
As a bonus throughout the chapters, Paula shares about 20 recipes. I’m anxious to try the Chocolate-Dippy Doughnuts, Mrs. Groover’s Banana Nut Delight Cake, and her Biscuits and Sawmill Gravy, yall!
I am really really struggling to keep up with 365 lately. Life has me busy, tired, stressed, unmotivated. BLAH! And I hate it. At least she makes me smile.
Party, party, party! I love parties, especially ones I don’t have to get dressed up for or worry about what I’m going to wear! I participated in the 5 Minutes for Mom Ultimate Blog party back in 2008 and would have like to have participated other years, but time didn’t allow it.
Just a quick intro about me. I met my husband of almost 14 years on the internet. We have 2 boys, ages 13 & 7. I taught elementary school for 9 years, but after being laid off in 2008 have been doing temp work to make ends meet. I also started a photography business and continue to strive to get better and better. I’m currently posting each day as part of a 365 project. Lots of fun, but some days you really have to dig deep for creativity! I also love to collect and try new recipes. I love to travel and often write about those experiences here. So my blog is a hodge podge of me and hey! What’s better than that?
