Full camp out post here.
{one} what is your dream job?
Ugh. Right now a home executive would be great! Later, when my kids are grown up something with traveling would be awesome, but I pretty much love my job now. No complaints!
{two} how many best friends do you have?
I don’t know that I have any “best friends.” The one person I would consider my BFF lives out of town and we don’t keep in touch like we should.
{three} what’s the longest road trip you’ve ever taken?
Lubbock, Tx to Auburn, AL. Although, we stopped several times.
{four} if you had to do one single thing every day for the next year, what would it be?
Chocolate
{five} what’s one story your family always tells about you?
It depends what family you ask. I may have to come back to this one.
{six} how did your parents pick your name?
You read about that here.
{seven} what’s the one thing that scares you more than anything?
Spending my life in discontent. I only get one life… I just hope I’m strong enough to make the right decisions.
{eight} are you a good cook?
Yah, most of the time. 🙂
{nine} where do you see yourself in 20 years?
I don’t even know. I’m just taking life as it comes.
{ten} what’s your best childhood memory?
Playing with my brothers. We always had SO much fun making up stupid games that would drown the days away.
If you missed Day 1 of our trip read here.
Day 2 of our trip to the North Georgia Mountains was filled with seeing the train leave, a “Farmer’s Market,” walking around Downtown Blue Ridge, a parade, visiting Mercier’s Orchards, lots of good food, and hanging out around the cabin.
The gang walking to the downtown area from our free parking spots. 🙂
Abby doesn’t like that she has to look into the sun to take pics.
Waiting for the parade to start
My sweet nephew wasn’t annoyed by the camera like his sisters and cousins were.
After the parade we went over the playground area and let the kids run off some energy.
My honey cooked hamburgers on the grill for lunch
After a wonderful lunch and a much needed nap, Rob, Maria, and I went over to the Mercier Orchards. We could have broken the bank there. Everything so fresh and sweet smelling. Yum!
Fried Pies (Still kickin’ myself for not trying on of these.)
Cider, cider, cider, of all types. Yes, we brought 2 bottles of this back
The kids enjoyed playing in the creek.
For dinner, Rob and I cooked Bowties with Chicken and Italian Sausage. Yum! Here they are before we mixed the 2 together.
The kids jumped in the hot tub that we had bumped way down, so that it became the cool tub.
The little ones played in 2 little pools.
It was a great day!

Last month we put in some new lighting in our kitchen areas. As you can probably see here the old light fixtures were both way to big for the room and really overwhelming. Eventually I’d like recessed lighting in both these rooms, but this is a definite improvement.
It’s just ridiculous that I take so many dang pictures that I can’t get my post up for the trip we took over the 4th, so I decided to break it down into days. Here’s the first day of our trip, which included driving up to Blue Ridge, getting the keys to the cabin, eating dinner, going grocery shopping, and preparation of some of the meals for the weekend.
Here‘s where we stopped to let Daisy out and it had a scenic view.
And here’s the front of our cabin, our home for a few days!
Downstairs with view of ground level patio
Main level deck with view of upstairs deck area
Preparation of quiche to be eaten for breakfast over the weekend

Day 2 is here.
With it being summer our TV watching shifts. We go into summer mode. In previous summers, Rob and I would stay up late after the kids went to bed watching movies or reruns of 24. This year, we’re not able to do that since I’m working in the evenings. So we catch up on his lunch hour, my dinner hour, and the weekends. Here’s what we’re watching this summer:
Flashpoint When we started watching Flashpoint, I totally thought this was a new series until I was talking to coworker about this show and he made me realize it’s not and that it’s Canadian! I love that this show pulls at my heartstrings because it’s not all about the bad guys.
CHAOS is it’s first season. I was happy to watch this show when I saw that Eric Close, who I admired in Without a Trace was one of the main characters of this really, funny show about the CIA.
SYTYCD is a dancing show that we should have started watching from the very first season, but for some reason we didn’t! We didn’t start watching it till the 5th season. If you know me well, you know I am a dancer at heart and I can’t get through an episode without crying!
Burn Notice was show we started watching awhile back. The main setting of the show is Miami and how I adore thee! Although, sometimes I find myself not fully paying attention, the last few episodes have me sucked in!
What are you watching this summer?
Watch for my upcoming post about shows coming back in the Fall!
Last week we took the plunge and got Teenager a phone. With that we had to add texting to our plan. Yes, it’s unbelievable that it’s 2011 and Rob and I didn’t text. Seriously! However, we knew that in order for communication to occur between us and Teenager, we had to have texting. So here ya go…
One of the main reasons why I really really want an iPhone is to be able to use instagr.am, but I did some searching and found some photoshop actions that do a pretty good job of letting me fake it. 🙂
