So basically what I did was got a piece of clear packing tape and lined the crayons on it. The size of the cup will determine how many crayons you need. After getting enough crayons, I taped the ends together and slid it down in the bottom of the cup. Then, quickly filling the middle with candy and post-it notes. The picture above was taken after it was completely full. After that I put plastic wrap on the top with a ribbon to ensure it didn’t spill out.

1. My favorite color is
red. Yah, I used to where it all the time. Red and black, which worked out great when I was at a student at Texas Tech and that was our school colors. Now living in Auburn, the colors I sport mostly are orange and blue and I love them, but I do miss wearing red. Red doens’t go over very well here though.
2. My travel destination of choice is somewhere tropical via cruise ship.
3. My favorite food is Mexican. No doubt, I would eat it everyday if I could.
4. My happy place is… I’m not sure about this one. Where’s your “happy place?”
5. My favorite saying is
6. My dirty little secret is I enjoy watching the Bachelor & the Bachelorette. Yep, I know it’s total trash TV, but there’s just something about it. I love seeing the locations of their dates.
7. Something friends might say about me is that I am loyal to a fault. I don’t give up on friendships easily and I work hard to keep my friendships going. People get so busy that I think people shove friendships to bottom of their priority list and I think that’s sad.
If you missed Day 1 or Day 2 or Day 3
Day 4 which happened to be the 4th of July was another great day in the mountains. We started the day by driving over to McCaysville, GA, which is a little town on the Georgia/Tennessee line. It’s bordered by Copperhill, TN. McCaysville is so cute, just a lovely little town with cute shops and eateries.
So bummed I didn’t get to try the fried Oreos. They weren’t quite open yet.
Next we drove over to the Ocoee Whitewater Center, which is the Slalom site of the 1996 Olympics. On the way there, I decided to try some moving shots. We were moving the train was not.
Obviously the damn has been closed so the water was way down.
We walked around a bit and then decided to go back to the cabin to figure out our plans for the rest of the day. We ended up going to the Blue Ridge City pool. This picture cracks me up! He’s not a ham or anything.
For dinner we grilled some yummy steaks, which was accompanied by roasted potatoes, baked beans, and for dessert we made cinnamon apples that we got from Mercier Orchard.
After dinner we enjoyed some time in the hot tub, a move (Despicable Me), and a little relaxation before our drive home on Tuesday.
Sunday we started by hiking up to the highest point in Georgia at Brasstown Bald.
We enjoyed a picnic lunch and then decided to go find the Swinging Bridge which crosses over the Toccoa River.
This was a very cool, very hidden spot. Great place to camp, swim, tube, kayak, etc!
For dinner we ate at Papa’s Pizza-to-Go Buffet, which had hot, high quality pizza.
Then, we did something we have never done before and that’s go to a drive-in movie. The one we went to was in Blue Ridge and it’s called the Swan Drive-In Theatre, where they show a double feature in the summer. ! How cool is that? We say Cars 2 and Green Lantern.
We made sure to get there early, so that we could get a spot on the front row. That way the ‘kids’ could play in the open field before the 1st movie started.
The drive-in was SO much fun. We’d like to try the one that’s about an hour from us here in our state.
Teenager got his braces today! He just got the top set today along with ‘stuff’ on the bottom teeth (which you can’t see unless he opens his mouth) so that his mouth can’t close all the way, which allows room for the adjustments to take place. Dr. T says that he’s trying to correct the crossbite before putting on the bottom braces. Teenager will either get the bottom braces put on in September when we go back or possibly the appointment after that.
Braces Timeline
June 27 – Consult
July 18 – Impressions & more X-rays
July 25 – Got the braces put on
Next appt. – Sept. 6th
For the Cub Scouts Summer Trip, we went to Lake Winfield Scott. It’s about 85 north of Atlanta in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest.
It was a really great place to camp regardless of age. Hiking trails, swimming, canoeing, fishing, and lots of wild life lurking in the woods.
Full camp out post here.
