OUCH!

**Warning-blood & guts! Some might find this post disturbing**

Do you ever have those times when as you start to do something you think, “I know I shouldn’t do this?” Well, this was me today. We were cooking kabobs out on the grill. I had some frozen Texas Toast that I couldn’t get seperated. So I grabbed the nearest knife to me, which was a serrated Cutco knife and that’s when I thought to myself, “you know, you shouldn’t be holding this bread with my hand underneath and the knife up on top.” Then, the knife popped the bread apart and then into my thumb. Blood streamed from the gaping cut and my stomach turned. I quickly got a towel and ran over to the door to tell Rob what I had done. I really thought I was going to have to have stitches. I was too scared to flip the flap of skin back to see if I saw fat cells so I just ran it under water and applied pressure. My brother in law went to get a band-aid and some bactoban. I got it to quick bleeding really quickly and bandaged it up. It throbbed, but luckily it hasn’t been hurting like so many finger cuts usually do. So the moral of the story, next time your sub-consious tells you not to do something…LISTEN!! 🙂

Oh my goodness… I hate blood especially bloody food

Yeah – I hear ya! Mine wasn’t so drastic but I was slicing a tomato Friday night with a serrated knife. Just as I came across from my right to left, I sliced straight through the tomato and into my thumb – dropped that tomato (which is TOTAL sacriledge!) and yelled out. That sucker was sore all weekend! 🙂

I’ve gone far too many rounds with fingers against knives…as you can guess fingers were always on the losing end. It’s pretty bad when your 8 year old says…hey mom why don’t you let dad cut that.
