Friday we headed out in a caravan with Teenager’s troop towards Gatlingburg for a weekend of ice skating, snow tubing, skiing and more fun. We got in around 1am, handed out keys to boys, and found our way to our cozy little room.
Driving through downtown Gatlinburg to our hotelSaturday morning we got up and shoved down some hotel breakfast before hitting the town. Who can’t go to Gatlinburg without drooling over the caramel apples, taffy, and handmade candies?
The boys decided to try their hand at some circus golf.
After that it was lunchtime, so we had decided to go over to the
Space Needle for
pizza and some arcade time. Monkey and I ordered by the slice, so we got our pizza quickly. However, the troop was going to order a few pizza to share as it would have been much more cost effective, but then found out it would take an hour before they could eat. Monkey and I stayed and finished our lunch, while the boys hit the pavement again in search for a decent priced lunch. They ended up at
Pizza Hut.
After lunch, it was time to board the tram up the mountain for the afternoon.
Most of enjoyed the tram ride up even though it was a bit crowded.
Our first stop was ice skating.
We had a tubing time of 5:00, so after ice skating we suited up to brave the cold.
Here’s Scoutmaster Baird looking a bit like Cousin Eddie.

Monkey and I finished up a little sooner than the guys, so we exhaustedly walked back to the hotel for hot baths and bedtime.
