Kent-ography::Week 1

So these last couple weeks I’ve been putting in place lots of new routines and goals, which I will talk more about later. I’ve been working on an editorial calendar for this blog. I had some different ideas for Thursday. However, while going through Dad’s photos, I continued to see more and more great pics. Many of them he shared on his website here or his tumblr or his flickr, but there’s lots more that are not. So I decided to feature one of his pics every Thursday in a post called “Kent-ography.” I mulled over lots of ideas for a name and I just loved the sound of this one; Kent – being the name he went by and ography – being the study of. During these posts we will be ‘studying’ his photography. 🙂

In the last 10 years or so my Dad, became a cycling fanatic. He had many different roles in the Race Across America, as crew member, photographer, official, etc. All of these jobs enabled him to take pictures of cyclers as well as landscapes and other interesting sites along the way. I’ll try to mix them up and hope to get more pics form my brother soon to incorporate.

I will do my best to describe the pictures, but some I, honestly, may not have any idea as to where, when, or why it was taken. So without further ado, here’s this week’s pic!

This pic was taken in September 2006 in West Texas somewhere. The title of the group of pics I found this in was called Fort Davis/Terlingua. When I googled this area with the word “bike”, it looks like there are many biking races/events in that area. I’m sure Dad/Uncle Guy were involved with some type of race/event as a training component for RAAM.
